Our First Trip

Hi: Amy's brother Tom and his wife Judy came down from Delaware for a visit, and got here 21 May. We loaded up in the Motor Home on 22 May and headed for the "Thousand Trails Campground", down near Disney World for the weekend. We went to Epcot on the 23rd for the day, and had a good LONG day of it. I think we got in to most of the places, but we found we could not eat something at each country there. Tom had some "Fish & Chips" in England. Said he would not be going to England for any more of the. Said "Long John Silvers" was better. And cheaper too. Amy, Judy and I went to an American place and had hot dogs and hamburgers. Not bad either.

We walked as much and as far as we could, then made it back to the car to go back to the campground. We had the Motor Home set up, and had a cabin for Tom and Judy while there. It was nice. Fairly close together also. We did have rain each evening, but not during the day while we were out and about.

Had a nice time there, and came back to Floral City on 25 May and Tom and Judy got under way back to Delaware on the 26th. They got home safe and sound on the 27th, and I understand that Tootsie the dog was glad to see them. I suspect they were "Gladder" to see her.. hee hee.

We are now starting to get some thing ready for our next trip in July to Pennsylvania, then on out West to Phoenix, AZ, and will be gone till October some time....

Attached are a couple photo's Amy took at Epcot.

First Entry. Set up Trips

Hi All: Here we go again for another trip. Not as long as last years trip to Alaska, but hope to keep your intrest going for a few weeks this time.

We will be having Tom and Judy Shelar (Amy's Brother) here for a few days around the 22nd of May. We plan to go to our Campground South of Orlando a little at 1000 Trails Campground. We will take the Motor Home AND Pharaoh, and have a cabin for Tom and Judy to stay in while there. Plan a trip to Epcot on Saturday 23 May. That will take care of the full day. Not sure what we will do Sunday, but there are a lot of things to see around there, and a lot of things going on at the Campground also.

Then on 24 July we plan to leave on a trip to New Castle, PA to attend the Shelar Reunion there. Will be there about 3 weeks visiting relatives and friends. Have reservations at the Rose Point Campground there. We have stayed there on our previous visits and it's a nice family campground.

Then Leave there and stop at Zanesville, OH to visit the Longaberger Basket factory. Amy sure don't need any more of those baskets, but we have to stop any way, She Says..... Then on to the Grand Canyon for a week of looking and photo taking. Then a little South of there to Camp Verde, AZ where we have another 1000 Trails Campground. We'll be there about a week, and my brother Jack and his wife Yoli plan to come up from Phoenix to stay at the Campground with us. We'll get them a cabin or some facilities there so we can do our sight seeing around there. We usually drive all the way up here from Phoenix when we visit them, so now we will be in the area we need to see what is here. Amy has a cousin that owns "Out of Africa" animal park near the campground. We hope to get to visit them this time. Stopped one time before and they were not at the park at that time.... Then we will move South to Phoenix and stay at a campground there for a couple weeks to visit and see a different part of Arizona, and visit with Jack and Yoli, and probably taste the different foods available there that we can't get in Floral City... Will be leaving there for home then along Interstate 10. No more special stops along the way. Just overnight places...

That's the outline of the trip. Nothing like the Alaska trip of last year, but it will still be interesting we hope...
